About Brook Farm
Brook Farm is a beautiful 20 acre small holding set in the North Essex Countryside. It is home to Steve and Jane Gilbey and their many four legged family. They moved to the farm in 2007 and spent many years renovating the buildings and creating the beautiful natural space it is today. In January 2019 the “Herdsman” holiday let was opened. This is a lovely barn conversion over looking a courtyard that leads to the paddocks and land via a pretty trail.
There are excellent equestrian facilities and the stable barn sets centrally among the other farm buildings which also include the “Walnut Barn” where Jane teaches her workshops. There are wooded trails, a small pine plantation, post and railed grass land paddocks and a hectare of 1000 native English trees and shrubs, land scaped to provide a future woodland with walking trails among it. This was planted as a WW1 commemorative memorial with the Woodland Trust and ours is dedicated to the animals involved in the war as well as people. The farm is a haven for wildlife and offers the perfect venue for finding restorative peace and relaxation whether that be during a holiday stay here or attending a clinic or workshop. The beautiful indoor spaces have been lovingly created and allow visitors to connect with nature in the beautiful outdoor spaces.
For those wishing to find out more about the Herdsman holiday let we have a second website all about the barn and surrounding area with a section on places to visit. I can be contacted direct for enquiries or we are with a booking agency who can also answer your queries and take bookings. Availability can be viewed via our agent.
